A Timmy for All Seasons
Hi Everybody,
Last night Tim's conversation was mostly about things he wanted to do once he gets out of the hospital. That was a good thing to hear.
He says that the only thing he needs to work through now is standing up and walking safely. He has use of everything - his arms and legs, he just needs to build them up.
Pray that he is motivated to push himself - to make the effort to develop his strength.
Thanks for all your prayers! Keep the comments coming!
Ken

Hi Tim,
I have been checking up on your progress periodically and have been pleased to hear how you are doing. But today I feel compelled to share a little of my insight with you. (preaching again)
My father caught pneumonia and have been in the ICU for the pass month and he is just now out of danger and is about at the same rehab position as you. I had my brother take charge of my mother so I could focus on his recovery.
Here is the lesson for us all. I found myself lacking the skills to motivate my father to work at his rehab. The more I tried, the greater his resistance became. It became very difficult to deal with, I'm sure you get sick sometimes of people telling you can do it, keep it up, etc.etc.
I was so emotionally attached to his full recovery that I forgot what I always tell you. "the work is yours". Getting back to my logical self, I realized that he may not recover to the level that I remember him. I cannot motivate him to achieve things the his soul is not willing/capable of attaining.
I have now backed off and just watch what he is capable of. We are atleast talking to each other again.
So, having said that, my father is 80 years old, you are not. I know your soul has many other things to do before reaching 80. Get to it.
