Tim is Moving...Again

Hi Everybody,

Well, the mini-crisis seems to be over and they are moving Tim back to the La Palma Intercommunity Hospital.

Hopefully today.

7901 Walker Street, La Palma, CA 90623

Once I find out a room number and direct phone number, I'll let you know.

Talk to you later,

More Tim

Hi Everybody,

It appears that Tim is in some sort of holding pattern right now. Evidently a few things cropped up while he was at New Orange Hills and the La Palma hospital. So they brought him back to Kaiser to get everything straightened out. He has a virus of some sort and an irregular heart beat. In addition, something may be wrong with his kidney.

The nurse said that today his condition is not any worse than it was yesterday, so it appears that they've stopped whatever downward slide there was. Now it's just a matter of getting moving uphill again.Tim talked today about fighting apathy. He wants to get out of the hospital and get back to life, but sometimes it is hard to work up the ambition to actually work towards that.

Pray that he is encouraged and motivated to get himself moving to get back into his life.

Thanks again for all your prayers, notes and comments!

Latest on Timmy

Hi Everybody,

Well, Tim is back in the Kaiser facility on Lakeview Avenue in Anaheim. As near as I can get from the nurses there, it was partly an insurance issue and partly an expertise issue. They suspect a blood clot in his lungs and the Kaiser facility is better equipped to handle that than the La Palma hospital.

They will keep him there until his breathing returns to normal. He had been complaining of shortness of breath.

When I visited him tonight, he was looking and acting much better than last night. Last night he was still in ICU. Tonight he is in DOU, which I guess is a level better than ICU. He seemed to be thinking clearly and was awake and rested enough to talk. Last night he was too tired for that.

Keep your prayers and comments coming!

What's Happening

Hi Everybody,

First of all, Rosemary, thank you for making yourself available this morning. We certainly appreciate it!

Ok, I know some of you know some of this already but, while doing some sort of scan of Timothy, they discovered that he had a blood clot in his left leg. The hospital he was in, La Palma Community, called Kaiser and asked for instructions. Kaiser said "send him over here". But when the ambulance came to pick him up, the doctors at La Palma noticed that his blood pressure had dropped and his heart rate was too high. So they moved him to La Palma ICU. He has been in ICU all day.

Then, this afternoon, they installed some sort of blood filter on his main vein/artery to prevent blood clots from getting back to the heart or lungs.

The doctor said that procedure went fine. Tim said he was very tired.

So now, they have to hold him in ICU for at least 12 hours to be sure everything goes ok with the filter. Then, maybe next week they can put him back in Rehab.

Everybody please keep up your posts of comments on the blog. Tim listens when I read them and smiles and nods his head when you mention things.

Thank you for your prayers!

Ken Lindberg

Please Pray

Hey all,

Timmy has been transferred to the ICU of the acute care facility in which he is staying. He was originally going to be moved to a Kaiser hospital because of a blood clot in his left leg. When the paramedics came to get him, he was very agitated, had very low blood pressure, and a very high heart rate - 170 to 180. At this point, rather than moving him to the Kaiser hospital, they determined he was too unstable to move and transferred him to the ICU in their facility.

He does have a blood clot in his left leg. However, the doctor I spoke with, Dr. Sag - from the acute care facility, said they can't give him blood thinners and can't operate to put a filter in his artery because of his current condition. He also is in renal failure, but this, according to the doctor, is not serious enough to warrant dialysis, it is just complicating things.

He is officially in critical condition and in ICU. The number for ICU is 714.670.6080

Please pray that God would help Tim relax and give him peace. Pray for his healing.

Hi Everybody,

I just talked with Tim. He's moved into his new facility now. He has his own phone. Call him at 714-670-7400. Ask for him in Rehabilitation. I asked him what room number he was in but he didn't know.

Talk to you later,

Ken

More cool stuff

Hi Everybody,

Tim is getting better! He says he is walking better now with the walker. He says he probably could get out of bed by himself, although he hasn't done it yet.

His control of his right hand and leg is improving.

He said they may move him tomorrow to the acute rehab facility.

Update

Hi Everybody,

Just an update on Tim.

When I went in Thursday night to see him, he was just getting over a
flu or something. He was asleep when I came in and it was hard to
wake him up. He said that he had been sick enough that day that they
didn't take him in for excersizing.

Then when I came in this morning, Saturday, he was much better.
Probably more upbeat than I've seen him yet. As we talked about his
improvement, he was moving his right hand. He became excited and said
that he'd not been able to move it like that before then. He was
flexing his fingers and wrist on his right arm. He said his movement
in his right leg was much better. He was excited as we talked.

Praise the Lord!

Someone sent a fruit basket for him yesterday. I don't remember the
name, but whoever you are, THANK YOU! He seemed proud of it and glad
to have it. I think he said it came from someone at 'Metavane' or
something like that.

I haven't heard anything more from Kaiser regarding his move.

Talk to you later. Keep those comments coming!

Timmy's Latest

Hey Everybody,

Just a recap on my visit to Tim last night. He is still improving, getting more movement on his right side. He said they had him down in the exercise room over the last couple of days. He also said Rosemary and Sam came to visit him. Thank you, Rosemary and Sam, for taking the time to visit him. I know it encourages him with your visits and comments on the blog.

Talk to you later,

Ken

More Miracles

Here's the latest from Ken:

Hi Everybody,

Tim seems to be getting better each day. Today he didn't seem to have
any difficulties with speech. I could pretty much understand him all
the time. He said he was standing up again today and there were
therapists in with him today working on movement and speech. He seems
upbeat and ready to move on.

Keep your comments coming (Lindbergs included). They are encouraging to
him!

Thank you,

Ken
